As Kentucky real estate brokers, managers and owners, the Kentucky Real Estate Education Foundation strives to offer you the most essential and current information on industry issues and trends to help your business prosper.

By attending this event, you will find answers to your questions. You can connect with the best in the industry and find ways to improve your business immediately. Now is the best time to further your real estate knowledge base.

Here are a few of the key objectives for the event:

  • Violations in real estate practice regarding procuring cause and commissions – legally and ethically
  • Broker to broker relations and how to forge a win-win
  • Creating a brokerage culture that results in higher agent retention
  • E&O policy coverages and endorsements that can be added to policies and things not covered
  • Mortgage rules that can kill referrals
  • Legislative issues that are relevant to real estate and upcoming election review
  • Important factors for upcoming elections and what they mean to the local real estate industry
  • What happens when you are issued a complaint through KREC
  • Networking and idea exchange

"Attending the Broker Summit is always a highlight for me. It's more than educational; it's an essential tool in networking with fellow brokers and managers as well as assisting me in staying current with the issues and trends facing the real estate market. As a professional, I am always intentional to make plans to attend the Broker Summit, and already looking forward to the next one." Sallie Davidson, Sallie Davidson, REALTORS®, London, KY

Love & War: Commissions, Procuring Cause and Broker Relations
Jason is a lawyer with Vaughn & Smith, PLLC in Louisville who recently served as the instructor for KAR’s professional standards training. His reviews came back overwhelmingly positive with attendees saying he worked through and clarified common issues they didn’t realize were ethics violations but also violations of the law.

By focusing on real estate litigation, the firm has managed to create a practice niche that had previously never been filled. Many firms have offered litigation services to clients with real estate related issues, but only Vaughn & Smith, PLLC has specifically trained its litigation attorneys for this exact purpose. The attorneys at Vaughn & Smith, PLLC constantly monitor the real estate industry as a whole, as well as any and all changes in the law that may affect it. They have intimate knowledge of commercial and residential real estate transactions and can utilize this base of knowledge when representing their client's interests.
